Emily delved into the world of marketing and public relations with Blue Man Group Productions in New York City while studying art history at Brooklyn College. She promoted the prominent men in blue for several years, witnessing the company as it grew from a small off-Broadway production in the East Village to an international phenomenon.
In 2000 she returned to her Texas roots and took a public relations position with the Paramount and State Theatres in downtown Austin. During her time there, she also promoted numerous visual artists and musicians including the talents of a Tokyo-based recording company, where she promoted US tours for several Japanese bands.
An opportunity to work with the Alley Theatre brought her to Houston in 2003 where she served as Public Relations Associate for almost three years before joining Houston Public Radio's talented team.
When not at the station, she enjoys trips the Houston Zoo and Discovery Green with her family. She says the best part of her job is, "not only promoting the great programming and events Houston Public Radio offers, but also the plentiful community and cultural events all over the city."
