Sen. Cornyn Says Flight Delays Are A 'Manufactured Crisis'

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn talked with reporters in a conference call this afternoon. One topic: FAA and the Department of Transportation and sequestration.

"Planes are being delayed by what is a manufactured crisis by the Federal Aviation Administration. And it seems almost every sector or branch of the federal government has done a good job managing the money that they have in their accounts except for the FAA and the Department of Transportation, which are now deliberately engineering flight delays just in order to try to make a political point."

Flight delays at other airports are affecting Houston air travel. Cascading delays held up flights in New York, Baltimore and Washington, with many flights more than two hours behind schedule.
