KUHF’s St. John Flynn speaks with musicologist Yvonne Kendall and tenor Jason Oby of Col Canto, the Bayou City’s art-song society. Col Canto presents Music of the People: Folk-Inspired Art Songs, a program of vocal works influenced by, based on, or incorporating traditional folk melodies Saturday night at First Unitarian-Universalist Church.  Listen Download

Houston-based painter-turned-photographic-artist, Libbie Masterson, talks with KUHF’s Meghan Hendley. Sky, a FotoFest-affiliated exhibition of Ms. Masterson’s images of the firmament, is on display through next Tuesday only at Wade Wilson Art.  Listen Download

Dancer, choreographer and folklorist, Danys Perez, is the founder and Artistic Director and Francisco Mora is the Musical Director of the New-York-City-based Oyu Oro Afro-Cuban Dance Ensemble. The group is featured this weekend at the Houston International Festival’s Salute to The Caribbean. Perez and Mora talk about their work and the performance with KUHF's Catherine Lu.  Listen Download
