Regina Scruggs, Producer and Host of KUHF’s “Music From The Movies,” has been in radio for over 30 years. She is a charter member of the Houston Film Critics Society and a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. She began as an announcer on the student radio station while an undergraduate at WBCR-FM at Beloit College in Wisconsin in the 1970s. She went on to a classical music program at WNUR, Northwestern University’s student station while studying for a master’s degree in music theory. Professionally, her first job was at WDAV in Davidson, North Carolina (where she helped convert the station’s format from “unformed student rock” to classical). Her Texas broadcasting history dates from 1981 and includes the position of Program Director at the former commercial classical station, KLEF.

Regina came to Houston Public Radio in 1990. Besides “Music From The Movies” (Friday nights at 7:00) she also serves as producer and host of “What’s New” (Saturdays at 11:30), and “Live From Festival Hill” (Sunday afternoons at 4:00 in the summer months) on KUHF-FM, 88.7 in Houston. She also reviews new movies and DVDs on her webpage at KUHF.org.
