Deborah Grotfeldt is KUHF’s new Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. With over twenty years experience working in the field of community based arts and cultural development, she was delighted to meet the challenge of transitioning to community radio. She brings to this new opportunity a deep commitment to Houston’s world class arts community and a life-long enthusiasm for radio.
Deborah felt privileged to work with the broadest range of visual, literary, and performing artists from Houston and the nation at DiverseWorks Artspace from its earliest days in 1983 as a volunteer who joined the staff as Assistant Director in 1986 until 1993. She has been active in community building projects in Houston through her work on the founding team of Project Row Houses where she was involved from 1993 until 2005. At the same time, she helped start community based arts programs in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, East St. Louis, and Detroit.
