A violinist since the age of nine, Chris Johnson is a graduate of the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music where he studied violin with Andrzej Grabiec. Johnson currenty divides his time between performing and studying music and his work as the host of KUHF’s "The Afternoon Concert."  Johnson is also the Technical Director of KUHF's arts magazine "The Front Row" where he manages the daily broadcast and also enjoys the chance to interview interesting musicians, artists, and writers from Houston and around the country. While a student, Chris performed in Master Classes for the likes of Isaac Stern and Sydney Harth and in the violin section of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Chris is a native of North Carolina and lived has also in Jacksonville, FL where, at 16, he first encountered a radio studio as a student performer for WJCT. In those rare moments when he is not pursuing musical endeavors he enjoys spending time with friends, at the gym, and listens to anything BUT classical music.
