KUHF's Spring 2010 Tour
"Carnival in Venice"

Even if you've been to Italy before, you've never experienced it like you will on our 11-day Carnival in Venice journey!

Start the perfect vacation in magical Venice at the very climax of the city's legendary Carnivale; we'll be ensconced in luxury at the 5-star Luna Hotel Baglione and expert scholars will lead us on thematic tours through "the city of dreams."

Then we are off to Padua where we enter, by special arrangement, one of the great achievements in the history of art - the Scrovegni Chapel. Two very private and outstanding buildings by the famous architect Andrea Palladio in Vicenza are also on our program by special arrangement. The city of Romeo and Juliet, Verona with its glorious Roman treasures is next, and we end in Milan, the fashion capital, where we discover the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Being Italy, great food and wine are, of course, an important part of our program as well.

Attend an elegant Carnival brunch in a Venetian palazzo and performances at that city's famous La Fenice ("The Phoenix," now resurrected from the ashes of its most recent disastrous fire), and Milan's legendary La Scala opera houses. To fully experience Carnivale, you may wish to participate in a spectacular Carnival Ball (costume required) in a private palace; stunning costumes are available for the four days we are in Venice. The ball and costumes as well as the performances are extra cost options, allowing you to customize the tour to suit your own interests.
