A special tribunal in The Hague is set to issues its verdict in the war crimes trial against former Liberian President Charles Taylor. Taylor faces 11 counts of crimes against humanity stemming from his support for the Revolutionary United Front rebels in Sierra Leone and their brutal atrocities over control of diamonds there. If convicted, Taylor will be the first world leader convicted by a war crimes tribunal.
