Longtime Television News Anchor Remembered in Moving Tribute

"There are certain people, and everything seems to come together in them. Depth and breath, love and warmth, humility, humor, an appreciation for life and affection for people. Ron Stone was one of those people where he just...he was sort of a Carmel kind of person."
His colleagues were in attendance to pay their last respects, as well as others who might not have met him, but knew him just the same:
"He loved everybody and everybody loved him, and we'll miss him."
"You felt like he was your best friend, made turning on the news feel like you're having a conversation with a friend."
"His evident love for the people of Texas. So, it was a beautiful service and a great
tribute to a great man."
His family buried him in a private service, but asked that in lieu of usual remembrances, contributions in his memory be made to the Ron Stone Foundation for the Enhancement & Study of Texas History in Brenham or the Houston Food Bank.
