Dean visits Pompeo Batoni, Prince of Painters in 18th-Century Rome, on view at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston through January 27.  Curator Edgar Peters Bowron is on-hand to discuss this first comprehensive exhibit in 40 years of Batoni's portraits and historical scenes.   Listen  Download

The Mercury Baroque ensemble presents the free recital, Italian Colors, this Sunday at 2pm while surrounded by the Pompeo Batoni paintings in the MFAH's Audrey Jones Beck Building.  The musicians treat us to a live performance, previewing that all-Italian program!  In the studio are artistic director Antoine Plante, violinists Jonathan Godfrey & Oleg Sulyga, cellist Barrett Sills and harpsichordist William Averill.   Listen  Download
