Members of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra preview their season finale performances with some live music from KUHF's Studio 3-C. And we begin with the challenges and opportunities of staging Houston Grand Opera's new production of Leos Jan?cek's "The Cunning Little Vixen" with its producer and director. . .

Houston Grand Opera concludes its 2006-2007 season with The Cunning Little Vixen, Leos Jan?cek's fable-opera.  This new production opens tonight, with performances through May 12, at the Wortham Theater Center.  TFR host Dean Dalton chatted with both Chas Rader-Shieber, who created this production initially for the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Leslie Halla, who is directing HGO's production.  Listen  Download   

The River Oaks Chamber Orchestra presents an interesting, unusual program this weekend -- Saturday afternoon at 5 at Saint John the Divine Episcopal Church and Sunday evening at 6:30 at Saint Philip Presbyterian Church.  Executive Director and oboist Alecia Lawyer and conductor Edwin Outwater discuss it with Dean, along with ROCO principal violist Matthew Dane and pianist Timothy Hester, who perform musical excerpts.  Listen  Download
