Friday on The Front Row
September 7, 2006 12:09:00 am
The program is made up of the sets of works known as The Four Seasons by both the Baroque-era Italian master, Antonio Vivaldi, and by Argentina’s 20th century tango king, Astor Piazzolla. . .
One of the prizes University of Houston graduate-student pianist Jessica Zhu won when she took first-place honors in this year’s Entergy Young Texas Artists' Music Competition was the opportunity to perform a solo recital at Houston’s Hobby Center. Her concert is Sunday afternoon, and she’ll preview that program by playing pieces by Haydn and Schumann live for us, tomorrow, here on the radio. . .
We’ll also talk with emerging poet, Matt Siegel, who will be one of three young writers to read their work on the first of this year’s events sponsored by the Gulf Coast literary journal, tomorrow evening at the Brazos Book Store.
Join us each weekday afternoon at 3:00 for an up-close look at the Houston are arts scene on The Front Row
