Maggini and Tracy Rhodus offer songs by Barber and Faure

Maggini is the Houston based ensemble made up primarily of recent graduates of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music and which presents varied programs of classical modern and popular music on their programs. Members of the ensemble, lead by Marlon Chen, are all young, spirited and many have appeared internationally as soloists, with major symphony orchestras, as well as numerous intercultural ensembles. Many of the musicians also have a good deal of experience in the fields of early music and chamber music which adds to the ensembles distinctive sound which you can enjoy of the current The Front Row Performance of the Week Podcast.
Soprano Tracy Rhodus is the recently appointed artistic director of Houston's Foundation for Modern Muisc. She is also in high demand as soloist and collaborator around the country. For the concert on March 6th she joined forces with the all-string ensemble Maggini for a performance of songs by Samuel Barber and Gabriel Faure.
