Wednesday on The Front Row

The say the lights are bright. . .
As we continue our series of conversations leading up to this year's 13th annual Theater District Open House, Gene Bartholomew, Public Relations Manager for Live Nation Theatrical, tells us about the big attractions that the Broadway Across America/Houston Series will be bringing into the Hobby Center this coming season. . .

Upcoming prodcutions that will make their way to the Hobby Center's Sarofim Hall include the New York smash, Monty Python's Spamalot and the return to Houston of Wicked, the musical that reveals the background story of how the Witches of Oz came to be.

We'll also speak with veteran Houston gay-theater producer-director Joe Watts and a couple of the members of the cast of his Theatre New West production of Larry Kramer's moving, classic play from the beginning of the H-I-V/AIDS era, The Normal Heart.  . . .

And we'll talk with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston's Assistant Curator of European Art, Helga Aurisch, about Impressionist Scenes of Intimacy the human factor in the art of the Impressionists the subject of this month's Artful Thursday event at the M-F-A-H.

Join us each weekday afternoon at 3:00 for an up-close look at the Houston area arts scene on The Front Row.
