Woman's Work is the title of her new compact disc. Ms. Meuller is a pianist and teacher at Lee college in Baytown and her album features a collection of pieces by 19th and 20th century female composers and documents the live concert she played on March 8th, 2005 at the Conservatory of Music of Agder University College in Kristiansand, Norway. The recording was released in the US in May. Ms. Meuller joined host Dean Dalton in the KUHF's Studio 3-C. Audio here.
Each summer, Houston's Lawndale Art Center puts out the call to artists living within 100 miles of Houston. This year, juror Dominic Molon, Associate Curator at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, looked at almost 900 submissions by 375 creative types. He selected 106 pieces by 90 artists and KUHF's Alison Young went onlocation to speak with him and three of the participating artists. Audio here.
Listeners to today's edition of The Front Row heard a somewhat unusual voice. TFR host Dean Dalton was back in his regular chair after his triumphant return from leading KUHF's 2006 Summer Arts and Performance Tour of Russia and Finland. He reviewed some of the performances he saw with TFR Producer Bob Stevenson. Audio here.
