Enron Trial: Skilling and Lay Convicted Felons

Enron CEO Jeff Skilling and Enron founder Ken Lay are now convicted felons. Houston Public Radi's Ed Mayberry reports. Aired 5/26/06 during the KUHF Morning Business Report.

Jeff Skilling was found guilty of 19 of 28 counts in the Enron fraud andconspiracy case, and Ken Lay has been found guilty of all six of his counts. The judge separately found Lay guilty of the four charges in a personalbanking case.

Skilling is holding fast to his belief that he did nothing wrong.

Prosecutor Sean Berkowitz said lack of personal acceptance could hurtSkilling.

Sentencing is set for September 11th. Prosecutor John Hueston said for Lay,it was a matter of choices.

Skilling attorney Daniel Petrocelli said the fight isn't over.
