90-Day Reprieve for Counties Affected by Rita

Texans affected by Hurricane Rita are getting a break from the state. Even though Harris County is not included, Tax Assessor-Collector Paul Bettencourt says people in seventeen southeast Texas counties will get an extra 90-days to renew driver's licenses, vehicle registrations and auto inspections. Residents of Liberty and Chambers counties and counties to their north and east that were hit by hurricane Rita have until the end of the year to renew their licenses, registrations and inspections.
