Fracking With Acid: Unknown Quantities Injected In Texas

Drilling for oil and gas has surged in Texas and several other states in recent years. So has concern over the environmental impact. One drilling technique that's widespread, but not as well known outside the industry is "acidizing."
“And you usually bring it out in trucks that hold fairly large quantities of acid, so you might pump a hundred barrels of 15 percent hydrochloric into a well at say 2,000 psi.”
