An HD Odyssey with Andrés Orozco-Estrada and the Houston Symphony

Andrés Orozco-Estrada
This weekend, Music Director Designate Andrés Orozco-Estrada leads the Houston Symphony in their two multimedia performances, "The Planets" and "Earth," marrying NASA HD images from space with music by Gustav Holst, John Adams and Richard Strauss.  The conductor talks about these presentations with St.John Flynn.

"The Planets: An HD Odyssey," the first of the Houston Symphony's multimedia experiences, pairs NASA images of the planets of the solar system with Holst's famous suite of the same name.  "Earth: An HD Odyssey," the other element of this weekend's concerts at Jones Hall, presents images of our planet taken from NASA's space shuttle and space station missions set to John Adams' Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Richard Strauss' tone poem Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Listen to Houston Symphony Music Director Designate, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, talk about the performances he'll be leading this Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
