Total Energy USA Doubles Number of Exhibitors in Second Year

The second annual Total Energy USA Conference wraps up today at the George R. Brown Convention Center downtown.

Total Energy USA is hosting more than fifty exhibitors this year, double the number that participated last year. The conference also added a professional hiring event, with companies recruiting everything from engineers to purchasing managers.

The conference is still looking to make its mark, in a city that already hosts more established energy events, such as IHS CERAWeek and the Offshore Technology Conference. Galen Cobb is vice president for industry relations at Halliburton.

"What makes this one unique is that it's not just dedicated toward one particular energy source. It's all the above. It's oil and gas. It's alternatives. It involves what we can do as far as energy efficiency. So it takes the whole energy balance into perspective, and it's unique in that it covers across the board like no other conference that I'm aware of."

Early projections suggest this year's Total Energy USA will top 1,400 guests, about 15% more than attended in 2012.
