Whole Foods Is Coming To The Woodlands

Construction is set to begin in The Woodlands on a new Whole Foods Market. The store will be Whole Foods’ tenth in the Houston area when it opens for business in 2015.

The store will be the latest addition to the Hughes Landing development on Lake Woodlands. Paul Layne is with Dallas-based Howard Hughes Corporation, a subsidiary of which is building the development.

“The Woodlands residents, over 100,000 people, have been patiently waiting for a Whole Foods to come to The Woodlands. It not only will provide an outstanding specialty grocer opportunity for Hughes Landing but for The Woodlands overall.”

David Micheletti is with commercial real estate broker Moody Rambin.

“You’re going to have a lot more restaurants coming in, and you’re going to have a lot more of service industries coming in as well to try to capture the people that are going to be coming to Whole Foods.”

Whole Foods currently has seven stores in the Houston area. Two more are set to open next year — one in Northwest Houston, the other near the Galleria.
