Three Texas Warehouses Adding Jobs Under Amazon Hiring Plans

Texas is one of ten states that will benefit from Amazon's plans to add 5,000 full-time workers at its U.S. network of warehouses.

Amazon will be adding workers at three Texas warehouses — one in Coppell near Dallas, one in Haslet near Fort Worth, and one in San Antonio.

Kelly Cheeseman is a spokesperson for Amazon.

“These are full-time, permanent jobs that offer benefits starting on day one — 401(k), matching company stock awards.”

John Challenger, CEO of global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, says the move suggests consumer demand is recovering.

“It’s certainly a positive sign when you hear a company that’s in the technology sphere [is] adding a big raft of workers.”

Amazon’s hiring plans amount to a 25% increase in its full-time warehouse staff. The company also plans to add a further 2,000 customer service workers — some full-time, some part-time or seasonal.
