What is Public Radio Music Month?
PRMM is a nationwide initiative during the month of April, led by NPR, to celebrate the essential role of public radio music stations of all genres, and Classical 91.7 is a participating station. Audiences look to public radio music stations to champion, preserve, and discover music. Classical 91.7 does all of those things and more: we play a broad range of hand-picked classical music. We air performances and interviews by locally and nationally known musicians, artists, writers, and actors. Our audio engineers have recorded over 20,000 performances by Houston area musicians and groups, and we preserve those recordings here at the station. And that's just some of what we do!
During the month of April, Classical 91.7 and other PRMM stations will be presenting special on-air and online content, including contests, audio and video podcasts, interviews, and more. To make this month a success, we need your help. If Classical 91.7 plays an important role in your life, show your enthusiasm by helping us celebrate Public Radio Music Month.
