Bill Would Stop Private Lawyers Who Help Counties Sue Polluters

Sometimes, private lawyers can receive millions of dollars when they win big lawsuits that are filed on behalf of the government. Later this morning in Austin, a legislative committee is set to consider putting a stop to some of those "contingency fee" arrangements. But some county governments, who use those arrangements to sue companies for polluting the environment, say banning them would have a devastating effect.
