As authorities sort out why a college student stabbed 14 students at Lone Star College in Cy-Fair earlier this week, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia says that incident and one earlier this year at another Lone Star campus shouldn't taint the school.

Investigators say 20-year-old Dylan Quick had fantasized about stabbing people for a long time and carried through on that fantasy on Tuesday. He now faces three counts of aggravated assault and is being held without bond.

Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia says the investigation continues.

"It's an open case. Things are progressing and we're collecting information and new information is being heard about. We just want to deal with this and make sure that we give the courts and the district attorney and all the right folks all the necessary evidence and information and let them administer justice as it needs to be."

Lone Star College has had to deal with two serious incidents in the last few months, the first coming in January when three people were shot on campus. Garcia says the recent violence isn't indicative of a systemic problem at Lone Star.

"There's a lot of people there looking to strengthen their lives, become much more productive and succeed and  you've got to applaud that. So we're not going to let these two isolated incidents taint the good reputation of a good institution like Lone Star."

Dylan Quick is being held without bail. Most of the students who were injured Tuesday have been released from area hospitals.
