January 28, 2013
Young African-American playwright Katori Hall talks about her historical fantasy The Mountaintop, which imagines what might have happened when a seductive and somewhat mysterious young maid visits Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis and challenges the civil-rights leader to confront his identity and his fate on the night before he was assassinated. The play is having its regional premiere at the Alley Theatre.
Katori Hall talks with St.John Flynn.
