Representative Turner: State Spending Plan Fails To Restore Cuts To Education

"But based on what the Comptroller is saying, $8.8 billion remains unspent from that budget, and we are carrying it forward. It does not make any sense whether you are conservative, whether you are liberal, Democrat, or Republican, to continue the massive dramatic cuts in public education."
This is an early version of the proposed spending plan. Representative Turner says the House appropriations bill doesn't reflect education as a major priority. He says it fuels the fire for the hundreds of school districts that have filed a lawsuit against the state for its failure to provide them with adequate funding.
