Artistic director Antoine Plante and four of the players from Mercury preview the ensemble’s upcoming weekend concerts, which feature string-orchestra arrangements of two early-Romantic-Era chamber works: Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet Number Three in D-Major and Franz Schubert’s well-known string quartet that bears the ominous title Death and the Maiden.
