Moores School of Music faculty-artist and early-music specialist Matthew Dirst talks with us about the keyboard works of Johann Sebastian Bach explored in his new book Engaging Bach: The Keyboard Legacy from Marpurg to Mendelssohn. Our conversation is punctuated by recordings in which performers take a variety of approaches to the interpretation of the pieces under discussion.
