Returns so far show Anderson over Democrat Lloyd Oliver, a longtime criminal defense attorney who survived an attempt by his own party to be taken off the ballot.

Anderson says he wants to raise morale in the DA's office, following numerous defections under current DA Pat Lykos.

"The first thing I want to do is talk to folks in that office, and make sure they understand I have their backs, and that I'm there to serve them and we're there to serve the people of Harris County."

Anderson was a Harris County prosecutor for 17 years before serving 12 years as a district court judge.
