Level 2 Fire At BP's Texas City Refinery

Updated at 4:30 p.m.: Firefighters at the BP Texas City plant have put out a fire that sent black smoke into the sky around a refinery that has seen its share of incidents over the years. KUHF's Pat Hernandez is outside the plant in Texas City and has report.

Updated 3:30 p.m.: As reported by the Daily News, the Resid Hydrotreating Unit at BP's Texas City refinery sent a smoke cloud over the city Tuesday afternoon. Because it is a level 2 fire, no shelter in place or evacuations were ordered. No injuries reported.

Updated 2:30 p.m.: It has been reported that the fumes blackened from oil fire burning. Officials there say it may burn for a conserable time and that a lot of smoke may be seen as the result of it.
