Crews will be out tonight, shifting traffic to new westbound mainlanes on the 610 North Loop between Shepherd and Highway 290. They'll start the work at 9:00 tonight. They're set to wrap up by 5:00 tomorrow morning. TxDOT's Karen Othon says it's part of ongoing construction work.

"They're going to be moving traffic in the westbound mainlanes over to the right where they have some new pavement that they have been working on these past few months."

And Othon says this will allow crews to shift around barriers so they can work on another section of the roadway without affecting traffic.

"If you travel in the interchange you see these columns that are being constructed.  So this allows them to continue constructing these columns in a safe manner."

So what does all this mean for late-night drivers? Othon says be careful.

"Slow down, lower your speed limit, and just watch for the workers that are there. Take your time getting through that section."

Othon also advises drivers that the westbound exit ramp to TC Jester will reopen tomorrow morning after being closed for several months.
