Every year when hurricane season rolls around on June 1st, we hear the same thing — make a plan and be prepared. We all know about how we should stock up on food, water, medication, ice, and — after the harsh lessons of Hurricane Ike in 2008 — find a way to get backup power, in case you're one of the unlucky ones who goes for up to two weeks without electricity. So what's new in hurricane preparedness this year? KUHF's David Pitman recently stopped by the office of Harris County Judge Ed Emmett to find out.
