Astros Fans Ready For Baseball Season To Start

Astros fan Charlie Mohrman sits in a folding portable chair outside Minute Maid Park while his son tries to get autographs from players as they walk in.
Mohrman is ready to finally see some baseball again.
"I’m fired up about it. Always a new season, always new hope, right?"
Mohrman is hoping the Astros new owner will be able to work some magic and breathe some new life back into the team. He says the team has some good young players, but getting those players meant trading away the ones he’s come to love over the years.
"I do regret the fact that they’ve lost some of the contributors, who were really significant in building up the Houston community. Guys like Michael Bourne and Hunter Pence and Jason Bourgeois, those guys were the face of the Houston Astros."
Catcher A.J. Pierzynski was dropped off in front of the stadium and a handful of people asked for his autograph. If you don’t follow baseball, Pierzynski doesn’t play for Houston. He plays for the Chicago White Sox. That didn’t stop long time Astros fan Shawn Jacobs from getting his autograph.
"I’ve got about 300 photos 150 cards, about 60 balls. I’ve been waiting the past five months man. I mean I’m pretty much a baseball nut. I could care less about the NFL, NBA all that. I mean, I’m Astros fan till the day I die so ... "
There are plenty of other fans who feel the same as Jacobs. They plan to follow the team in person and on TV this season win or lose. But they’d prefer to see a lot more winning.
