Houston's US Infrastructure To Buy Pipeline System In Bossier-Haynesville Shale

Houston and Austin-based U.S. Infrastructure is announcing plans to purchase the Wildcat Sabine gas pipeline system along the Texas-Louisiana border.

Shale mapThe newly constructed 28-mile Wildcat system is located just over the state line in Louisiana’s Sabine Parish.  It gathers and transports natural gas for producers including Eagle Oil & Gas Company, which has dedicated substantial acreage in the Bossier-Haynesville Shale play.

Gil Burciaga is US Infrastructure’s CEO.

“It’s a very prolific play, probably, from a gas standpoint, second to that of the Marcellus, and so we believe that the reserves are going to be substantial and long life.”

US Infrastructure will build a 20-mile extension to the Wildcat system, giving producers direct access to markets served by Gulf South Pipeline Company and Tennessee Gas Pipeline. The expansion project will double the system’s capacity to 400 million cubic feet of gas per day and is expected to be complete by mid-2012.

Burciaga says he anticipates hiring more staff at the company’s Houston headquarters to support the expansion.
