Recruiting experts are looking down the road for the employment picture in 2012, as well as trends in temporary and full-time hiring through the end of the year. Houston mirrors some of what the national scene is experiencing, but we're faring a bit better here. Michael Sanches is Regional Accounts Director for Adecco Career and Recruiting.
"Really, for 2012, you know, I see Houston as still really being kind of the premiere place to, you know, live and work. Some of the trends we're seeing, you know, we're seeing spikes, you know, with some of the oil and gas firms, especially in oilfield distribution services as well as oilfield manufacturing. We've been doing quite a bit of hiring in the light industrial scope."
Sanches says the holiday hiring season is around the corner.
"You know, we really have some ramp-ups here for some retailers. Promotional-type retail sales, we have some wireless retailers that we're hiring customer service, you know, reps for."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release new job numbers this Friday.
