One of the many spectators heading to Florida to watch the final Space Shuttle launch is a man who was intimately involved with the program. Wayne Hale was in charge of more than 40 flights, as Flight Director. He also managed the entire Shuttle program, before retiring from NASA last year after 32 years with the space agency. He recently sat down with David Pitman to talk about the timing of the Shuttle program's end, and the one factor that outweighed everything else in the Shuttle's demise.
The last shuttle launch is scheduled on Friday. For more information, visit the NASA Website.
