METRO Makes Game Day Changes in TMC

The Main Street light rail was designed to move daily commuters, but METRO CEO and President George Greanias says the line picked up an additional purpose when big events, like the Big Dance came to town.
"It would become a major asset in terms of moving people around the city, and I think that is perhaps something nobody focused on when the system was originally built, but it's become a very important part of the service that we provide now."
Because of the influx of basketball fans and this evening's rush hour, Metro will be making a change in service for its customers in the Medical Center.
"We will be providing those folks with busses that will take them directly to the parking lots where they park their cars. That will enable them to avoid the crowds on the trains and it will also allow us to use the trains to get people down to Reliant Stadium."
The busses will be running every five minutes along Fannin from the Memorial Herman/Zoo stop to the Smith Lands stop until seven this evening.
