Syrian-American pianist & composer, Malek Jandali, plays some of his original works, inspired by the oldest noted music in the world, discovered in Syria and dating back to 3400 B.C.!
Echoes from Uragit is the latest album by pianist-composer Malek Jandali. The musical project was based on the musical inscription discovered on an age-old tablet, an artifact from the ancient city of Uragit. Mr. Jandali performs some of the pieces he wrote, inspired by the notation, and chats with KUHF's Bob Stevenson to preview his concert, coming up this Saturday, October 9, 8pm at Rice University's Stude Concert Hall.
