GOOD STUFF...composer Rolfe Kent is worthy! His specialty is contemporary comedies, to which he brings a jazzy, laid-back style. Hear music from Up in the Air, Kate & Leopold, Sideways, 17 Again, and the new action-comedy with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, Killers. In reviews, Regina reports on Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in Knight and Day. Jared hangs with Adam Sandler and the fellas in Grown Ups.
MORE JEFF FOR YA...Three movies still to go in the "We Love Jeff Bridges" series, weekends at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. It's the first major film retrospective for the charming, versatile, and prolific Oscar winner! Each of the nine movies, spanning Jeff's 40-year career, is being introduced by a member of The Houston Film Critics Society. Coming up on Friday June 11 is The Fisher King, co-starring Robin Williams. June 18 brings us the rarely-seen Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, with Clint Eastwood! Wrapping things up on June 25 is Crazy Heart, which won Jeff that Oscar, plus other awards earlier this year (including the coveted Best Actor prize at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, pictured right; I was present for that!). All movies start at 7pm. Tickets available at the Museum, 1001 Bissonnet. Parking is free in the lot across the street; enter by the Main St. door. More information at www.mfah.org/films. —Regina
