Divas World Productions presents its final Song Salon Concert of the season, The Great Divide: Saint Augustine and the Struggle for Wholeness. Kenneth Gayle is the soloist in performances of Doctor Beverly Grigsby’s chamber opera for tenor and instrumental ensemble, Fragments of Augustine the Saint. Dance, performed by former Houston Ballet principal ballerina, Lauren Anderson, reinforces the work’s archetypes and its references to the idea of the Divine Feminine. There are two performances: tonight and again tomorrow evening at the Rothko Chapel. Admission is free. Grigsby and Gayle chat preview the performance in a session hosted by St. John Flynn.
