Houston's 13th Fotofest biennial got underway this past weekend. The 2010 show focuses on Contemporary U.S. Photography, and today on "The Front Row," with some assistance from curator Aaron Schuman, we look at the flagship official exhibition which debuted last Friday night at FotoFest headquarters downtown; it's titled Whatever Was Splendid: New American Photographs...
KUHF's Meghan Hendley speaks with photographic artists, Jane Tam and Richard Mosse and, with Aaron Schuman, editor of the avant-garde on-line photography journal, Seesaw; he curated the principal exhibition of the FotoFest biennial, Whatever Was Splendid: New American Photographs. That show and FotoFest 2010 in general opened this past Friday night at FotoFest's Vine Street Gallery.  Listen Download  Extended Interview

Brinton Averil Smith, Principal Cellist of the Houston Symphony and Associate Professor of Cello at the Shepherd School of Music. He presents a solo Faculty Recital, tonight at Eigh8:00PM in Duncan Recital Hall on the Rice University campus. Admission is free.
