The Houston Department of Health and Human Services will hold four clinics in an effort to target people who can't
make it to weekday clinics because of their work schedules.

The Department's Kathy Barton says they'll offer the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine at four locations.

"From 9am-1pm we will be holding four immunization clinics for H1N1 vaccine, and this is the LAIV, the inter-nasal spray. So this vaccine is limited to people who are between the ages of 2 and 49 who are otherwise in good health. So if you have asthma or diabetes or something, we will not be able to help you out."

The vaccination clinics are at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center, Magnolia Health Center, Southwest WIC and Sunnyside Health Center.

Barton says people may not realize the swine flu vaccine is free.

"All the H1N1 vaccine is free, it was produced and paid for by the federal government. Many providers, private providers, may be charging an administration fee but that should be very small. But there is no charge for the vaccine itself. We are not charging an administration fee."

Barton says they'll have 1,000 doses of the vaccine at each of the four clinics.

The Health Department expects a new shipment of the vaccine late next week, with regular weekly shipments arriving after that. But until those arrive they won't know how many are the nasal spray and how many are the injectable version.
