Mexico Violence and Spring Break

Thousands of people have been killed in Mexican towns along the border with Texas. Things are so bad in Ciudad Juarez the police chief has resigned and the mayor has moved his family to El Paso to keep them safe. The Mexican government is preparing to send thousands of military troops and federal police to the border areas to restore order.
The United States State Department has issued travel warnings urging U.S. citizens going to Mexico to be aware of the increased threat of violence and kidnapping, especially along the border.
It also issued an advisory on Spring Break, which draws thousands of American students to Mexico every year. The advisories urge people to use common sense and travel only to high visibility business and tourism areas of during daylight and early evening hours.
