Today performers from the Eppes String Quartet perform for us as participants of the Texas Music Festival. The Eppes String Quartet, currently the Graduate Student Ensemble-in-Residence at Florida State University's School of Music in Tallahassee, performs on the Young Artist Series of the 19th Annual Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival.  Its members include violinists Rang Hee Kim and Kim Haim, violist Annabelle Terbetski, and cellist Katie Geeseman, who join St. John Flynn in studio 3-C.  Listen.  Download.

Michael Lasser, guest honor for the Museum of Fine Arts "Artful Thursday" and host of the public radio program, Fascinatin' Rhythm speaks with Eric Ladau about his talk on Thursday evening.  Lasser explores Sweet and Low Down: The Gershwins' New York, in conjunction with the 19th and early 20th Century American painting and sculpture on view at the MFAH.  Listen.  Download.

Today Chris Johnson introduces us to Artists in Action: Entrepreneurship in Music, a conversation among Houston-based musicians whose organizational and business skills have enabled them to succeed as initiators and managers in the performing arts.  Chris leads a panel discussion on the subject tomorrow afternoon at the Texas Music Festival at the University of Houston as he completes a project that began life as an assignment for a course called the Self Expression and Leadership Program offered by Landmark Education.  Listen.  Download.
